Overview

Zill Noorain Institute’s static Quranic Qaidah was transformed into a fully animated learning experience for their online Tajweed course. Since the original material was designed for print, the task was translating those pages into motion — guiding the learner’s attention, demonstrating pronunciation more clearly, and making each lesson easier to follow on screen.

The Challenge

A static page can only show information — it can’t demonstrate it. Tajweed and Arabic pronunciation require students to understand exactly where and how a sound is produced, including precise movements involving the throat, tongue, palate, teeth, and lips. Each page also contains multiple letters, examples, rules, and exercises — presenting everything at once in a video could easily overwhelm the learner. The challenge was turning static information into a guided lesson while preserving the structure and clarity of the original Qaidah.

The Approach

Motion design controls exactly what the learner sees and when. Pages were brought to life through camera movement, zooms, highlights, animated boxes, and focused transitions, directing attention toward the specific letter, word, or rule being explained. For pronunciation lessons, anatomical illustrations were animated to visually demonstrate makharij — showing how the tongue, teeth, lips, mouth, and throat work together to produce different Arabic sounds. Rather than simply displaying the page, each lesson progressively reveals what matters at that moment, reinforced with sound effects and subtle motion cues at key teaching points.

The Process

Static Qaidah → Layered Assets → Makhraj Animation → Zooms & Highlights → Motion Design → Sound Design → Final Lesson

The Result

A printed Qaidah transformed into a visual, guided digital learning experience. Students no longer only read where a letter should be pronounced — they see the articulation demonstrated, while animated highlights and camera movement guide them through exercises and Tajweed rules step by step.
